Privacy Policy
In short
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. RicingTab has no server, so nothing about you is sent to us.
- Your layout, settings and your own backgrounds stay in your browser.
- Some features load public data (weather, prices, wallpapers, quotes) from the services listed below. The only thing you type that leaves your device is the city you enter for the weather.
- Bookmarks and most-visited sites are read on your device only, and only if you allow it.
What stays on your device
- Layout and settings: your shortcuts, widgets, presets and preferences are saved with
chrome.storage. If you have turned on sync in your browser, the browser syncs them through your own browser account. We never receive them. - Your backgrounds: photos, videos and GIFs you add are stored locally in the browser (IndexedDB) and never uploaded.
- Caches: the latest weather reading, prices, quotes and a list of recently shown wallpapers are kept locally so the page opens instantly and wallpapers don't repeat.
- Backups: "Save backup" writes a file to your computer. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Optional permissions
- Most visited sites (
topSites): asked when you pick a theme. Used once to fill the theme's shortcut slots with the sites you visit most. The result is saved as your shortcuts on your device. - Bookmarks (
bookmarks): asked when you turn on the bookmarks bar. Used only to show your browser's bookmarks bar on the new tab page. RicingTab never changes your bookmarks and never sends them anywhere.
You can turn these features off in RicingTab's settings or remove the permissions on the browser's extensions page at any time.
Services RicingTab connects to
These requests happen only when you use the feature in the second column. As with any web request, the service can see your IP address and browser type. Their own privacy policies apply.

Search and site icons
The search box hands your query to the search engine you chose in your browser, the same way the address bar does. RicingTab doesn't see or store your searches. Site icons come from your browser's own icon cache, so no outside service is asked for them. If a site has no icon yet, "Fetch icon" opens that site in a background tab for a moment, exactly as if you visited it, so the browser saves its icon.
Feedback and donations
"Send feedback" opens a draft in your own email app; nothing is sent until you send it yourself. The support page shows crypto addresses for optional donations. RicingTab doesn't process payments or collect payment details.
Chrome Web Store user data policy
The use of information received from browser APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. RicingTab does not sell user data, does not transfer it to third parties except as described above to provide the feature you use, and does not use it for advertising, credit or lending decisions.
Presets and backups from other sources
You can import presets and backups made by other people. RicingTab takes only settings, images, videos and fonts from such files, checks each file's real type and blocks scripts, and asks you to confirm before importing presets. Still, it cannot vouch for files it didn't create: import files only from sources you trust. Presets and backups from third-party sources are imported at your own risk, and the developer is not responsible for any harm they may cause to your device or data. RicingTab is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.
Children
RicingTab is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date.
